Our EXTRA-CURRICULUM

Art

The Art department at the SRPS is a lively, exciting, and invigorating place where pupils experience a wide range of artwork and materials through a curriculum that is fresh and stimulating. Pupils gain experience in drawing, painting and ceramics to form a firm base for their interest.

  • Art is not only fun, but also innovative method for developing vital skills, among them, behavioral skills, cooperative learning, cognitive development and a link to mathematics.
  • Our aims to help stimulate camaraderie, the sharing of knowledge and ideas.

Dramas

Drama is taught to all years. The emphasis is on learning basic performance skills and developing the children's self-confidence through mime, improvisation, games, and devised sketches and, occasionally, scripted performance.

  • Cross-curricular events involving the whole year group include plays, poetry and sketches. Each year group puts on a major production.

Music

Music is a key component of life for musicians and non-musicians; therefore it is embedded in every child’s education at SRPS. The collective aim of the Music Department is to fire enthusiasm of the musically talented and offer opportunities for all through music.

  • We help every child to achieve their musical potential and there are a number of performance opportunities at every level.
  • Children respond naturally to music. They can move to it, create their own verses and learn more easily in that mode.
  • Music, as well as the visual arts, drama and dance, give us insight into the way a child’s mind works. They show us what children understand.

Sports

Sports and outdoor activities nourish a child’s thinking capacity and help to improve physical strength. DPS provides a sports field and state-of-the art amenities for basketball, cricket, football, gymnastics, swimming, Skating, Yoga ,Robotics ,Karathe and activites.

  • One of the best attitudes that will be developed in joining team sports is teamwork. At this school, we encourage teamwork.

Club

At SRPS we lay due emphasis on different activities through active participation in various social, athletic and artistic clubs and societies. We guide students to discover and create their own understanding. Besides academics, co scholastic activities form an integral part of the school curriculum.

Community

Our school experiences its share of challenges, but an invisible were-all-in-this-together spirit can go a long way toward carrying a school community through the highs and lows of a year.
